Today, 021221 is the Chinese New Year! And we greet everyone with
"Kung Hei Fat Choi".
But do you know what does it mean in English?
From google, Kung Hei Fat Choi or “Gong hei fat choy” is the most common Chinese New Year greeting in Cantonese, which is spoken in parts of southern China and Hong Kong. It means, “wishing you great happiness and prosperity.”
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, the most common thing the Chinese do is open the door and set off firecrackers right after they wake up in the morning of the Chinese New Year Day. For them, the sound of firecracker and fireworks is a sign that the New Year has arrived.
To know more about how Chinese New Year is celebrated, you could check articles on the internet and you can find good readings about it.
We did not celebrate Chinese New Year this year. No "tikoy", no dance parade, no food feast, but still I'd like to greet everyone one "Gong hei fat choy" --wishing you all great happiness and prosperity".
Let us enjoy a brewed coffee with Mooncakes and Almond biscuits!
